Friday, April 20, 2007 has been declared a Statewide Day of Mourning here in Virginia by Governor Tim Kaine.
And Virginia Tech family members have also declared Friday an
Orange and Maroon Effect day, to "honor those killed during the shootings on Monday and to show support for Virginia Tech students, faculty , administrators, staff, alumni and friends."
(The "Orange and Maroon Effect" was born several years ago as in invitation to Tech fans to wear orange and maroon to Virginia Tech athletic events.)
Which is why I have changed my journal colors, just for today.
Please consider clicking the link on my sidebar, to read about the lives of each of the victims of the shootings.
We continue to hold all those affected by this tragedy in our prayers.
AOL Journals Editor Joe of Magic Smoke blog has a post here
with some good links.
I know I have been blogging almost exclusively about the Virginia Tech massacre, and I do have other topics I want to post about. I will return to blogging about those another day, but not today.
Today, " We are all Hokies."

The good pastor Jerry Beaver at Victory BC near Kenosha,WI., used to work and preach at the very Virginia Tech "drill field" before he came up here to pastor the church we attend. He passsed out THOUSANDS of Christian tracts and hasled many students fromV-Tech to the Lord Jesus Christ! I took him out for lunch about a month ago and I'm proud to call him friend! He says the colleg president, the campus police and owningguns are NOT tobe blamed! We ae ALL TO BLAME in a sense-- for not tryingharder to reach and preach to more people in the rat race of our lives. Howhard is it to hand someone a good Christian tract or booklet and invite them to a Bible believing church near them??
It's not about "gun control" !! Crimminals will ALWAYS get guns; and what if the guy used explosives, poison, knives or something else. I hate it when the Lefty, Liberal wacko Dems steal a terrible tradgety like this to push their own agenda ! They are nothing more thana dung heap.
Question: If you died tomorrow, would you know for sure you were going to heaven? Who can really tell when they will have an untimely death?? Get right with the Lord and read the Bible daily.
